Outdoor Center Membership Brochure

In order to access the YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center, you must hold current membership in the following categories below:

  • Southington Community YMCA - Full or Family Membership: As a full family member of the Southington Community YMCA, your membership privileges are extended to YMCA Camp Sloper and all of the opportunities listed below. Membership cards should be carried at all times.
  • Outdoor Center Membership: For those who only want access to the YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center, we offer an Outdoor Center Membership for an annual fee. The Outdoor Center Membership entitles you to all of the membership opportunities listed below (but no access to the 29 High Street facility). Membership cards must be purchased at the Southington Community YMCA and be carried at all times. All YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center memberships expire annually on December 31.

  • Southington & Cheshire Program Membership: As a program member of the Southington Community YMCA, your membership privileges are extended to YMCA Camp Sloper and all of the opportunities listed below on SUNDAYS only. Membership cards should be carried at all times.
  • Cheshire Community YMCA Membership: As a full member of the Cheshire Community YMCA, your membership privileges are extended to YMCA Camp Sloper.

What does the YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center have to offer?
Our facility includes a 19-acre pond for fishing as well as swimming and boating on the weekends in July and August. Our trails provide great opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and nature exploration. Picnicking, spending time with your family, and relaxing is strongly encouraged. The Mama Cass playscape and our 80-foot Charette Super Slide provide lots of fun and excitement for all ages. The YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center is available for daytime use only. All members and guests must remain off the property during day camp hours, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5:30pm (Last week of June and all of July & August).

Attention Members: Family/Group Use at YMCA Camp Sloper has certain policies and procedure to make sure the property is not over-used. Although members are allowed to utilize the grounds as part of their membership, any group of members and/or guests that is over 8 people must contact the camp office about the use of pavilions or picnic tables.  Pavilions are available for rental by groups ranging from 8-200 people or more, but must be contracted through the camp office.  If you would like to have a gathering at YMCA Camp Sloper, please call the camp at 860-621-8194 for more detailed information.

Memorial Forest:

YMCA Camp Sloper has set aside an area on the property to remember loved ones who have passed on. The Memorial Forest is located on the southeast corner of the property. Facility Rentals:
